House move 8: House move on Pune’s Datta Bazar
The Bombay High Court on Thursday directed the Maharashtra government to move the state’s housing development agency, Datta Bank, to take over the Pune housing projects.
The court ordered the Maharashtra Development Authority to submit a report by December 30, 2018 on how the projects should be developed in the state.
In a statement, DTA spokesperson Pradeep Kumar said the agency was looking at the matter.
“The court has directed us to look into the matter and we will take the necessary action,” he said.
In August, the Maharashtra Assembly had passed a resolution calling for Datta to be given the authority to undertake the Puntukar project.
The government had announced a Rs 1,200-crore loan for the project in August 2017.
The project, which is being developed by the Maharashtra Housing Development Agency (MHDDA), is expected to create more than 1,500 housing units.
