Barbies move house in New Hampshire
A new barbershop in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is opening to the public, after two years of planning.
New Hampshire House of Movida plans to move its house to the Portsmouth location this week after the New Hampshire House moved.
The barbershops on both sides of the street are expected to be open by next Wednesday.
It is not yet known what the move will mean for the neighborhood, though many residents hope the new barber shop will bring a smile back to the neighborhood.
Newsham Borough Mayor Bill O’Connell says the barbers shop is part of a growing trend of New Hampshire businesses opening in bars.
The move is expected to bring a boost to Portsmouth’s economy.
O’Connell said the new Barbershop will help the neighborhood attract new businesses and new residents, and to create new jobs in the Portsmouth community.
O.K., I have an idea that the barber shops should be open all the time, he said.
We want the barbing shops to be around all the times.
The Portsmouth City Council passed a resolution in June saying barbers should be available in all businesses.
Council President David Knezevich says the resolution is not intended to affect the bar in Portsmouth itself, but to open a conversation on whether bars should be opened all the way to midnight.
